hey mike i was wondering what kind of catalytic converter you had on your civic to make it pass smog. the new car im gettin has a spoon test pipe connected with a spoon exhaust i was wondering if the random tech cat. will pass smog? thanks man
Whats up Jerry! Sorry for the late response. The right cat to use with a stock 1.8 for 98-01 is Magnaflow part# 46034 which is a 2.0in. inlet and outlet pipe 3-way cat converter with single o2 bung. However in my case, since my exhaust is 2.25in. I opted for the I believe 3.2 TL or NSX equivalent of the 4600 series cat which is a 2.25in inlet and outlet pipe with single o2 bung, part# 46035. If your, I believe 98 or 99 and up, you will most likely need a 3-way cat. If you have a older car and don't need a 3-way cat, or live in any state other than CA the 2-way equivalent Magnaflow part# 53034 will work just fine and costs about a third the price of the 3-way. Hope this helps!
